Open and Shut: Parr Lumber Window & Door Showroom in Hillsboro ...

Purchasing windows and doors can be a big decision for homeowners or contractors, and?Parr Lumber Company?employees were accustomed to hearing calls for more product on display.

?

"Oh gosh I wish you had that on display," Angela Zagorsky, window and door division sales manager, recalls hearing from customers.?

"Homeowners really love to touch and feel and see how things work," she said.?

Partially in response to those demands, Parr Lumber opened its?Window & Door Showroom in Hillsboro?on Monday.?

A division of the Parr Company, the site was converted from a logistics and lumberyard into a retail business. The store is staffed with three staffers with more than 35 years of collective knowledge, Zagorsky said.?

The 2,900-square-foot space is intended to serve as an alternative to big-box home improvement retailers. "The whole point is to grow this," Zagorsky said.?

The push to start a showroom first came up about three years ago, and Zagorsky said they decided to push forward with the concept a year ago.?

More than 50 different window options are on display, ranging from fiberglass to vinyl and wood. The store has about 30 door models and sells skylights too.

Hours are Monday through Friday 7 a.m.-6 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
