To get baby ready to swim, many levels of infant and toddler swim classes are continuously held at the YWCA on South French Broad.? They host an amazing array of Waldorf-inspired toys, an indoor playground, Mommy and Me yoga, Mama-time groups hosted by Fourth Trimester, and drop-in childcare.

For an educational good time, don?t forget The Health Adventure in the Biltmore Square Mall, which features an educational toddler area, classes and events. Stay-at-home parents of preschoolers can sign up for Play and Learn Sessions at Asheville City Preschool.? These sessions feature pre-literacy skills through song, puppets, and hands-on activities.? On that perfectly sunny summer day, stop by Splashville in front of city hall for a run through the sprinkler and a picnic in the park.? Pack Square Park now hosts some beautiful shade trees and places to sit while your toddler waddles through the water fountains downtown.? A day trip to the WNC Nature Center is another fantastic activity for a summer day.? Featuring over 60 species of native animals and a petting zoo, the Center welcomes over 100,000 visitors annually.? Buncombe County swimming pools feature two sessions of swim lessons for 3 and 4 year olds in June and July, and many of the Asheville public pools feature a graduated shallow end for the littlest swimmers.
