1) Second Annual Coffee Cocktail Mash Up
When: Sunday, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: Weather Up, 159 Duane St.
What: Weather Up is hosting its second annual Coffee Cocktail Mash Up on Sunday. Five bartender-barista duos, including reps from PDT, Clover Club, and Handsome Coffee Roasters, have spent the past month crafting an original alcoholic coffee beverage. Tomorrow night, each team will present their caffeinated cocktail to a panel of judges, which includes the likes of the New York Times' cocktail writer Robert Simonson and Time Out NY?s Food & Drink associate editor Mari Uyehara, who will score the drinks based on flavor, balance, creativity, and presentation. We?ve heard coffee ice cubes might make an appearance. Tickets are $20 and include a coffee-based cocktail.
2) The Spotted Pig?s Pride Party
When: Sunday, starting around 5:30 p.m.
Where:314 West 11th St.
What: New York?s favorite gastropub is hosting its fourth annual Gay Pride party on Sunday, shortly after the Pride Parade wraps up in the West Village. There will be specialty shots, cheap drinks, and a D.J. spinning tunes all night long. And expect a naughty ice luge.
3) First Weekend of Brunch at Molyvos
When: Today, at 11 a.m.
Where: Molyvos, 871 Seventh Ave
What: For the first time since it opened 15 years ago, Molyvos is serving brunch. Starting today, chef Jim Bostsacos's brunch will be available between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekends. The options include a $24 two-course prix-fixe menu, which includes an appetizer, an entree, and a complimentary drink, and an ? la carte menu full of Greek favorites like avga (poached eggs with crispy chick pea cake) and loukaniko (homemade lamb sausages).
4) The Total Astoria Immersion
When: Today, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Various Locations in Astoria, Queens
What: Brooklyn Brewery and Brooklyn Based have teamed up for a drinking extravaganza in Queens. The Total Astoria Immersion is a neighborhood bar, food, and shopping crawl featuring cheap drinks and eats. Stops include places like The Sparrow Tavern, William Hallett, Dominie?s, and Pachanga Patterson. 5) Brunch Party on the Empire Hotel Rooftop
When: Today, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
