The Classic Center will host the 2013 Small Business Summit May 31.
The summit will provide more than 300 businesses with the education, resources and networking opportunities. The event is organized and presented by StartStrategic, an Athens-based business consulting and education firm. It is open to all businesses of all ages and sizes in the Athens area.
The summit will feature a variety of breakout sessions, exhibits, networking events and more.
The University of Georgia Terry College of Business has worked closely with the summit team to develop the first breakout session entitled ?Solving Your Toughest Issue.? This session will include three topics: Growing Revenue & Profits; Developing Key People; and Staying Focused: The Right Strategic Issue.
A small business resource fair will take place throughout the summit, allowing attendees to talk one-on-one with representatives from more than 50 local service-based industries. Vendor booths for the resource fair are available for purchase.
Steve Baker, vice president of The Great Game of Business Inc., will be the keynote speaker at the summit?s Taking Action Luncheon. Baker?s Springfield, Mo.-based company provides training and coaching services on the best practices of high involvement workplaces and open-book management.
The luncheon is followed by two rounds of breakout sessions, which will include classes on digital marketing, retirement, choosing the right financial institution, small business loans, search marketing, health care options and more.
The event will end with a cocktail and networking opportunity for all attendees, exhibitors and presenters.
