The blossoming friendship between Bracknell Forest and China was evident when council representatives were invited to the Chinese Embassy.

The visit was the next step in the business networking LinkToChina programme.

Cllr Marc Brunel-Walker, executive member for economic development and regeneration, and Bracknell Forest Council?s chief executive Timothy Wheadon visited the embassy to celebrate the Chinese New Year in Lancaster Gate, London on Wednesday, January 23.

Cllr Brunel-Walker said: ?It was a really good event ? mixing Chinese and British to build relationships.

?As many of our businesses know, a relationship is very important to China and the Chinese people.?

The event followed a LinkToChina visit to Bracknell Forest in September, which saw 50 delegates visiting the borough.

Cllr Brunel-Walker added: ?This will ultimately lead to the next step in the relationship for business between Bracknell Forest and China.

?We spoke to the Chinese ambassador Liu Xiaoming about Bracknell Forest, Bracknell business opportunities and raising the profile of the borough.?
