On the anniversary of the opening of ?The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware? The Party Rockers are helping by having a ?Gift Wish List? Drive! We will be visiting the house on June 7, 2012 with all the collected items, visiting families staying there?& taping a special segment for our show. If you want to donate we have 2 drop off places.

The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware opened on June 7, 1991 and since then has been a ?home away from home? for more than 33,000 families.? Housing includes a meal at the end of each day, private guest room with bath, transportation to and from the hospital along with a supportive and nurturing environment where families find support from our volunteers, staff and other families in similar situations.? Our guests are requested to contribute $15 per night but are never turned away if they are unable to pay.?? The actual cost per night to operate one guest room is $65, and in 2011 families averaged a contribution of $3.93 per night. The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware depends on the generosity of the community to defray its cost of operation.
Another important core program of the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware is the operation of 3 Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, located at Bayhealth Medical Center, at Christiana Care, and Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children.? The Family Rooms offer families a place in the hospital to relax, have a snack, or email friends, away from the hustle and bustle of their child?s hospital room.
