Tom Hanks' Insurance Broker Pleads Guilty to Fraud

After charging Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson hundreds of thousands of dollars, a Southern California insurance broker was sentenced to more than two years in federal prison.

According to City News Service, Jerry Goldman received a 27-month sentence Monday (November 4) in addition to paying about $840,000 in restitution.

Starting in the late nineties, Goldman inflated Hanks’ premiums by 600-percent, creating fake invoices to cover it up.

The 60-year-old pleaded guilty in the fraud case involving Tom and Rita.
